Terms
Sightlock terms of service
These terms explain the launch subscription, no-card trial, licence key, device allowance, machine binding, and support rules for Sightlock.
Last updated: 23 June 2026. These terms are written as a practical launch policy and should be reviewed before wider commercial rollout.
1. Who These Terms Cover
These terms apply when you use the Sightlock website, request a trial, subscribe, sign in to the account dashboard, use a Sightlock licence key, or contact Sightlock for support.
2. Trial And Subscription
Sightlock offers a one-month no-card trial. Card details are optional at signup. If you choose to subscribe during or after the trial, Stripe handles payment setup and monthly billing.
Subscription access is tied to one account licence key and an active-device allowance. The first active device and extra active devices are billed according to the prices shown on the pricing page at the time of checkout.
3. Licence Key And Machine Binding
Your account licence key allows Sightlock to activate machines up to the active-device allowance on your subscription or trial. Sightlock may store a hashed machine identifier, machine label, status, and recent heartbeat timestamps to enforce that allowance.
No-card trials include anti-abuse controls. The same machine cannot keep consuming fresh free trial keys. Legitimate hardware replacements, workstation moves, or activation problems can be raised through support.
4. Changing Device Allowance
You can add device allowance through the account dashboard once billing is configured. If you reduce allowance below the number of currently active machines, you must choose which active machines to deactivate before the billing change is applied.
4A. Machine-Binding Disclosure
Machine binding is used so one licence account cannot be reused across unlimited computers. Sightlock should show customers which machines are bound, what their active-device allowance is, and which device will be deactivated before a lower allowance is applied.
5. Customer Data And Project Files
Sightlock is designed around local drone survey and inspection workstations. Your source drone media, telemetry, GIS files, exports, and project folders remain in locations you choose unless you deliberately upload, email, export, or share them through another service.
The online account system stores licence, subscription, machine-binding, billing status, and support/enquiry records needed to operate the service. The privacy policy explains this in more detail.
6. Acceptable Use
You must not use Sightlock to break the law, infringe rights, bypass licence controls, attack the website or account APIs, submit false billing details, abuse the trial system, or upload malicious content through support or enquiry channels.
7. Supported Workflows
Sightlock is built for drone survey, media/GPS sync, indexed repositories, GIS layers, feature capture, inspection comparison, and export workflows. Supported drone models, telemetry formats, media types, map layers, and export formats may change as the product develops.
External services such as maps, payment, email, authentication, or hosting may occasionally be unavailable. Sightlock will use reasonable care to keep the service available, but cannot guarantee uninterrupted access.
8. Payment, Cancellation, And Refunds
Stripe is the payment processor for paid subscriptions. Cancellation and refund handling are explained on the refund and cancellation page. Cancelling a subscription may stop future renewals and can affect account access after the paid period ends.
9. Support
Support is available through the website support form and the published Sightlock mailbox. Support may ask for app version, operating system, licence status, screenshots, logs, or project details that you choose to provide.
10. Intellectual Property
Sightlock software, website content, branding, and product materials remain owned by Sightlock or its licensors. Your drone media, project files, inspection data, and exported customer work remain yours.
11. Limits And Changes
To the maximum extent allowed by New Zealand law, Sightlock is provided without guarantees that every workflow, data source, or integration will be error-free. The service may be updated, improved, paused, or changed over time.
If these terms change materially, the updated terms will be published on this page with a new update date.
12. Contact
For terms questions, billing issues, account access, licence resets, or support, contact oliver@sightlock.co.nz, email enquiry@sightlock.co.nz, or use the support form. Sightlock is operated from Christchurch, New Zealand.
